Each BT Radioshuttle is equipped with rechargeable batteries, operated remotely via wireless remote control, and can be quickly and easily transferred between storage locations using a conventional forklift. Sensors integrated into the shuttle precisely control its positioning within the aisles to ensure maximum storage density. The system is suitable for both FIFO (first-in first-out) and FILO (first-in last-out) operations. The BT Radioshuttle is available in a wide range of shuttles to accommodate different pallet sizes, including a "combi" version capable of accommodating two different pallet sizes. The maximum load capacity on a shuttle is 1,500 kg per pallet. The system currently in production is now in its fourth generation! This represents intense product development over the years, with continuous performance optimization (the maximum speed has now well exceeded one meter per second) and the adoption of the most advanced technologies (CAN-bus and Plug & Play, to name a few). Added to this are other important features, such as self-diagnostic and pallet counting functions, resistance to liquids from above, overflowing load management, and quick and easy replacement of gel batteries (see photo on the right) thanks to the convenient handles. These shuttles are therefore a technological gem, but they also make the BT Radioshuttle a flagship among Toyota Material Handling's logistics systems, thanks to its versatility and ability to integrate with other structures such as order picking channels, mezzanines, gravity racks, and anything else required for customer operations.
